The last few entries (I think the last 20?) Stores Avalon. The command "buffer", we obtain the list of recent Inputs.
In this list you can always see a number followed by the current entries. The number is the current input number. You can call up an old command targeted again by typing: "%
The last command can be repeated with "%%" (read: percent percent), which is often quite useful.
The penultimate command - and earlier - do you get if you type: "% -
number is -1 is the last but one command, -2 is the antepenultimate, etc.
Most players do use a MUD client that a separate input history added. But occasionally, the resort to the Avalon buffer practical (in scripts!). As several players to use with voice output still Windows Telnet, this article might be for them but the most interesting.
You can also search an old command. If you type: "%
say hello, Avalon.
% SA
... So twice says "Hello, Avalon."
One more thing, what many do not know: You can add text to the last command. When you write:

Or you can also be corrected text. But this is admittedly very awkward:

%% \\ \\ bs
The term \\ \\ b (read: backslash, backslash, B) deletes the last character.
